Customs Rules
To clear customs in Indonesia, international shipments must contain the following:
- Full address and other necessary details of the recipient
- Proof of payment of import duty and import-related taxes
- Other relevant permits, licenses, and certificates for the shipment

Import Duties and Taxes
Shipments with a declared value of Rp 45,000 or more are subject to Indonesian import duties and taxes.
These range from 0 - 450% depending on the item's HS code.
Moreover, there is value-added tax (VAT) of 10% and luxury goods are also subject to luxury tax. This ranges between 5 - 20% for alcoholic beverages, 40% for branded shoes, and more for luxury cars.
Restricted and prohibited items
Some shipments require additional permits, licences, or certificates, depending on the contents.
The list of restricted items is dynamic, but may include: clothing, electronics, folk handicrafts, fresh food, and hazardous materials.
